WHO I WORK WITH - people who want to explore their thinking.
Hi, I'm Leland. I currently spend my time coaching, facilitating, writing, and learning/bringing people together.
Before this, I built cameras at GoPro, designed k-12 digital learning experiences at Clever, and implemented digital workspaces at Citrix. I've built teams in product development, program management, engineering, and consulting. Through these experiences, I've learned that what I love even more than innovative technology is helping people grow.
I've created several passion projects over the years: a career mentoring network for students, a mental wellness coaching platform for frontline COVID healthcare workers, a peer community for professional coaches, and monthly in-person gatherings focused on inclusion and authentic connection.
I learn and coach brazilian jiu-jitsu, team skydiving, and mindfulness meditation. To me, these are more than activities. They are ways of living. I have not mastered any of them, nor do I expect to. Helping others is the best way to deepen my own understanding while paying it forward.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong and now live in the Bay Area with my wife and aussie collie puppy. I can converse in English, Chinese, and American Sign Language.
I graduated from Brown University in 2008 with a multidisciplinary degree in Economics, Organizational Behavior, and Entrepreneurship. I've earned coaching certifications from the International Coaching Federation and Co-Active Training Institute, project management certifications from Stanford University and Scrum Alliance, and technical certifications from Microsoft and Citrix. I'm pursuing an evening MBA at the UC Berkeley Haas School of Business.
I enjoy thinking about how people think, learn, and make decisions, and what it means to live a good life.
I invite you to look around. If you see something interesting and want to talk with me about it, feel free to email me or request a 15-minute virtual coffee chat.
